PROCLAIMING FREEDOM

A Campaign For A New Valley Christian Counseling Center.

“He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free...”
- Jesus (Luke 4:18)

In these days of increasingly broken lives and relationships, the need for effective Christian counseling has grown significantly. Valley Christian Counseling Center (Valley) is feeling the demand acutely.

Client visits have more than doubled in the last decade; the number of clients increased by almost 50 percent in the last two years.

Valley has doubled its counselors and increased support staff to meet the mounting needs. Unfortunately, the shortcomings of its main facility at 509 25th Avenue North limit any further meaningful growth. Purchased in 2001, the aging former office building no longer supports the needs of clients or the region.

  • 9 counseling spaces serve 17 counselors. There is no room to add more counselors to meet the demand, leading to increasing waiting lists and reduced ability to respond to emergencies.
  • Out-of-date design and the lack of an elevator make the two story building difficult to navigate for people with physical disabilities.
  • Counseling rooms are not soundproof leading to privacy concerns.
  • The building lacks adequate spaces for group therapy and client reception.
  • Finally, heating and cooling are spotty at best, making the crowded center uncomfortable for clients.

More and more people are reaching out for help,
yet there are simply not enough counselors and not enough space to meet the demand.

Will you respond?

An Opportunity to Proclaim Freedom for the Red River Valley.

The Valley Christian Counseling Center Board of Directors has a bold vision to respond to the growing needs of the Fargo-Moorhead region. The Board believes that it is our responsibility and privilege to support those who want to proclaim freedom from depression, anxiety, marital conflict, family conflict, pain from abuse, and other issues that prevent living in all the peace and fullness God desires for us.

Valley is launching a $3 million capital campaign to acquire a property and fund the larger counseling center. This facility will have the capacity for nearly double the current number of counselors and more than double the current client load.

Ultimately, this new facility will reduce waiting lists, increase our impact in the Red River Valley, and better equip us to bring about healing and hope in Jesus’ name.

Your gift can help men, women, and families Proclaim Freedom in the Red River Valley.

Each of us has an opportunity to make a lasting difference in our community by making an investment to help more people access quality Christian counseling.  Donors are encouraged to “stretch” their giving by making pledges over 3-5 years.
